Privacy Policy

Paneer Labs creates focused iOS apps, including MyWatchlist and Sift. This policy explains how we handle your information. Our goal is to be transparent about what data is stored on your device versus what is synced to the cloud.

1. Data Collection & Storage

• Sift: Accesses your Photos library only with your explicit permission. Your swipe decisions and organization metadata are stored on-device and synced via your private iCloud account. Paneer Labs does not operate servers for Sift; all processing happens locally.
• MyWatchlist: To provide cross-device syncing, MyWatchlist stores your watchlists, progress, ratings, and notes in Firebase (a Google service). This data is associated with a unique identifier for your account.
• Technical Data: We may collect basic, non-identifying technical data (e.g., iOS version, device model) to ensure app stability and performance.

2. Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of trusted third-party services to power our apps:

• Cloud Infrastructure (Firebase): We use Google Firebase to host and sync data for MyWatchlist.
• Advertising (MyWatchlist only): MyWatchlist is supported by third-party ads. These partners may collect your Advertising Identifier (IDFA) to show relevant ads. We respect the "Ask App Not to Track" setting—if you opt out, we do not share your IDFA and only show non-personalized ads.
• Metadata: MyWatchlist fetches movie/show details from public APIs. These requests do not contain your personal account information.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

All subscriptions (like Sift Pro) are handled by Apple. Paneer Labs never sees or stores your credit card details. We only receive anonymized confirmation of your purchase status from Apple.

4. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You have the right to access, modify, or delete your data at any time.

• Sift: You can delete data in-app or via your device's iCloud settings.
• MyWatchlist: You can delete individual items within the app. To request a full deletion of your account and all associated data from our Firebase servers, please email hello@paneer.love. We will process these requests within 30 days.

Note: Deleting the app from your device does not automatically delete your cloud-hosted MyWatchlist data.

5. Children's Privacy

Our apps are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we learn we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

6. Changes

We may update this policy as we add features. Significant changes will be noted in the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, within the app interface.
